YouTube Video Views

Blinkfire now separates YouTube engagements and video views.

In the past, YouTube engagements equaled video views, but we've made updates to the platform. This change is also retroactive, so you will notice engagement numbers are lower compared to video views. There is no change to YouTube values, both past or future, unless you change the corresponding CPV value in Inventory Valuation

Engagements & Video Views Breakdown

Now, when you look at your YouTube data, an engagement will be a like or comment, and views will be a video view. For example, the below screenshot is the Media Kit's Engagement analysis, only accounting for likes and comments.

And, here is the Media Kit's Video Views analysis, only including video views.

Valuation

The Blinkfire Inventory Valuation uses CPV as the default valuation ($0.04) for YouTube, but you can customize the CPV value here.

The below video from the NBA, earned 1,161 engagements and 35,790 video views. Using the baseline CPV of $.04, the earned media of this video is $1,431.60 (videos views x CPV).
