Custom Reports Builder
Blinkfire’s Custom Reports Builder is a search tool used to find branded content, especially visual content in images and video. When you access this tool you will get a bar where you can search for athletes, brands, leagues, and combinations of all those elements. Keep in mind that if you are not logged in you will only get the first 10 results. These are all the search and filtering options you can use to build your custom report:
1. Keywords: Use to find posts containing keywords. e.g. hashtags, team names, players, venues, etc. Toggle “Match all words” to match exact phrases or toggle “Match any” to broaden search.
Match all words: Using US Open for instance would search of words with US Open, US, and Open.
Additionally, searching "US Open" would only search for posts with the phrase US Open.
Match any: Using "Top 5", "Top 10" would search for posts with one or both of those phrases.
2. Author type: Filter by author type. e.g. teams, leagues, brands, media companies, influencers, etc. Leverage to study sponsorship exposure coming from other entity types.
3. Brand: Filter by specific brands
4. Network: Filter by a specific network (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
5. Media Type: Filter a post's media type by video, image, text, and/or mixed media. Include all by selecting all or keep them all unselected. Leverage this filer to study valuation potential of different media types in your social channels.
6. Variety: Filter by timeline posts, Instagram Stories, OTT (over-the-top) content, Web Feed, and other options. When Stories is selected, the only results appearing will be Instagram Stories. When Timeline is selected, the only results appearing will be timelines posts.
7. Content kind: Filter results by content type (branded posts, fan posts, or all posts). Leverage to study social inventory valuation.
- Branded posts include post with a brand present from posts including fans, players, teams, media companies, etc.
- Branded post without fan posts include posts with a brand present (excluding fan posts)
- Fan posts and Fan posts at venue
8. Additional filters: Filter by eight more categories.
- sport
- exposure (active vs. passive)
- specific scenes (e.g. action or birthday)
- specific assets (e.g. uniform or bottle)
- type of author (e.g. league or team)
- type of brand (e.g. Airline or Automotive)
- specific countries
- specific players
After obtaining your search results you will see three new buttons that allow you to a) edit the report, b) save the report, or c) export the results. Saving a report means that you will be able to go back to it in the future and obtain updated results. This option is very useful if you need to make recurring reports.
To save a report just click the Save report button and a modal window will ask you to name the report. Once saved, you can manage all your saved reports from the Custom's main page. A custom report will search for items matching the criteria at every load. This means that custom reports not bound by an end date will constantly add new items as they are posted. Playlists, on the other hand, are just a list of items that are returned in a specific format.
Export results
Exporting comes in handy when you need a report. When you click the Export button you can choose to download an Excel file with the results obtained, including social engagement and brand valuation, or send that file to an email address.
